I came across the attached article – (https://www.workamajig.com/blog/project-management-best-practices), and thought it was interesting. We touched on several of these topics in class, and will discuss further after the forum posts have closed.

1st classmate post:

I would like to talk about create a risk response team. Risk management plays an important role in the stable development of any project, because any risk during the project may lead to project failure. The risk response team can provide professional knowledge and their experience to identify, analyze and deal with any risk. Provide some response plans to deal with critical risks of the project, which ensures that the stable development of the project. In addition, create a risk response team ensures the benefit of stakeholders, because the risk team can solve problems in time so as to to avoid negative impacts, such as issues related to financial.

Define and evaluate quality standards throughout the project’s lifecycle

Defining and evaluating quality standards should be throughout the project as it helps the project achieve its goal and meet the expectation of its clients. Define and evaluate quality standards can test products that are being implemented or have been completed, which can make sure the expected results. The lack of quality evaluation will bring some negative impacts to the final deliverables of the project. Take an example about decoration project, if workers do no have clear understanding of quality standard about each decoration process, it is difficult to achieve the client’s expectation of this project.

Stakeholders are people who have a positive or negative relationship with a project. To correctly identify stakeholders is a priority task in the initiation phase of a project. The reason is that many stakeholders would have a significant influence on projects. For instance, a project in a large company, the CFO, can directly affect the success rate of a project by determining the budget of the project. In this situation, the management of stakeholders plays a critical role in project management. More importantly, communication with stakeholders is also vital. Target customers are a priority in the management of stakeholders. If the project team could use effectively communicate with customers and sufficiently listen to their needs, the project deliverables would directly solve customers’ needs. Hence, stakeholder management and communication are essential in project management.
