This assignment is based on They Say, I Say, Chapter 2, “Her Point Is,” pp. 30-42.

The points (10 available) will be based on the clarity and accuracy of your summary, as well as how effectively your summary accomplishes the following (as explained in They Say, I Say):
- The reader shouldn’t be able to detect whether or not you agree with the article!
- At the same time, the summary should focus on what you believe are the most important points of the article. (Avoid writing a “list” summary.”
- Use signal words that fit the language of the article. Avoid repetitious use of “she says,” or you will lose significant points.
Finally, make sure your summary is tightly organized, written in complete sentences and uses precise word choice.
