PED 116 Northern Virginia Community College SMART Goals Exercise Plan
Description
As with the previous plans, for this assignment, you must start with SMART Goals. All goals must be muscle strength or endurance goals, and at least one goal for each must be linked to your pretest MS/ME scores (# completed within the allotted time). Again, a good way to determine whether or not you have written a SMART goal is to ask yourself a few questions. For each goal you write, ask yourself: is it Specific? Is it Measurable? Is it Attainable? Is it Realistic? Is it Timeframe specific? (Do not include these questions in your assignment.) The last question (T) is easy to answer because your current SMART Goals must describe what you hope to accomplish in the short term – over the three weeks of this program. SMART Goals are covered in your textbook. Make sure your goals conform to the descriptions there. Once you have developed your goals, move on to your FITT plan. You are only required to include push-up and sit-up/curl-up activities in your program, but if you are already familiar with MS/ME activities or you want to challenge yourself, you may include activities that require RM testing. See Lab 4.1 for a description of RM testing. In either case, be sure to include what you are going to do for your warm up and cool down, and how much time you are going to spend on each. If you are going to add in other elements like weight training, you need to be specific. DO NOT just say weight training, for example, put in the plan that you are going to do Chest Press and how many sets, repetitions and the weight you plan to use if any. Also, you must use the chart in the textbook. Please take this assignment seriously as this component of fitness can be very important if implemented correctly. Do not submit the assignment in essay format.
