Colorado State University Chinua Achebe Things Fall Apart Essay

Colorado State University Chinua Achebe Things Fall Apart Essay

Colorado State University Chinua Achebe Things Fall Apart Essay

This is a two-part question revolving around the book Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe. If you are not intimately familiar with the book, please do not make an offer. I need an outline AND a rough draft completed for my portfolio project. The outline and rough draft need to be separate documents.

My thesis revolves around the cultural influences of the Igbo tribe and how they affect society. This is mainly in reference to Okonkwo and the masculinity and treatment of women in society. As the instructions outline, “In other words, any critical perspective from which you frame your thesis and overall paper needs to convey a sharper international or multicultural understanding of the novel and should be reflected in your outline and reference list”. The thesis is loose and can be rounded off! The outline I need by Sunday 03/10/21 03 October 21, but the rough draft can be completed by Wednesday 06/10/21 06 October 21. I am honestly not too pressed on the outline, it’s only 25 points, but the rough draft and final portfolio are the majority of my grade! Thanks a ton, let me know if you have any questions!

Outline Guideline –

This week, in Module 5, the outline of the paper is due. Refer to the lecture material and the information below for more information on constructing this document. Be sure to incorporate your ideas from Modules 2 and 4 when composing this outline.

Submit a topic outline and a paragraph outline.  You may want to use APA heading rules to help you set up and organize your outline.

Demonstrate a clear thesis and organization for the paper.  As we have revised the thesis several times at this point, feel free to share your various versions of the thesis, and feel free to ask any question about the thesis in your thesis area of the submission.

Include specific details to support the sub-points of the thesis and develop those sub-points in our paragraph plan of

Rough Draft Guideline –

We have come a long way from our first readings and discussions of literature and of our common novel, Things Fall Apart, by Chinua Achebe.

We have also covered a lot of ground about the elements of short fiction, poetry, and the novel.

We have also examined the literary criticism about our novel and compiled an annotated bibliography about key elements of that literary criticism on your chosen theme or topic.

This week, we combine all of our elements and craft a completed rough draft of what will become our final portfolio.

As this is our first attempt at completing a full draft of your semester-long examination of the novel, we will view this draft as a separate assignment.  So, for this week, focus on

Completing your body paragraph using our paragraph format.

Revising your thesis based on your notes from the reverse outline

Constructing an introduction that starts broad and narrows to your thesis, a thesis that makes an over-arching point on the novel and wraps up an introduction paragraph that foreshadows the topic sentences developed in the body paragraphs. Constructing a conclusion that recaps key points, restates the thesis, and offers a larger closing point that instructs your readers as to next steps or future action. Use the following website to help get you started: OWL // Purdue Writing Lab (Links to an external site.)

For your assignment this week, compose your rough draft of the research paper about Chinua Achebe’s Things Fall Apart. Combine knowledge gained through research and application of content with your own interpretation and judgment. Your interpretation of this novel should reflect an international perspective. You should supplement your own theoretical reading perspective with information from three to five other sources. Information about planning your essay and conducting your research can be found in the lecture material for Module 5.
