Before conducting your training session, you have been asked to submit two items:

  • First is a brief summary that lays out your strategies forworking with your chosen trainee group, how this training session willhelp prepare that group to succeed in implementing your proposedinstitutional policy and practice guidelines, and why you chose thisgroup to pilot your proposal.
  • The second is an annotated agenda and training plan for a two-hour workshop for your chosen group.

During this training session, you will want to ensure that theindividuals you are training understand the new institutional policy andpractice guidelines. You will need them to buy in to the importance ofthe policy in improving the quality of care or outcomes and to their keyrole in the success of implementing the policy. You must provide themwith sufficient training to learn the knowledge and skills to besuccessful in implementing the policy and guidelines in practice.Additionally, you have been asked to cite 2–4 external sources tosupport your plans and strategies for working with the group you haveidentified and generating their buy-in, as well as for your approach tothe training session, activities, or materials.

For your submission, ensure that the following criteria are met by the materials that you develop. Note:The bullet points below correspond to grading criteria in the scoringguide. Be sure your materials are, at minimum, addressing each of thebullets. Part 1: Brief of Strategies
  • Develop strategies for working with a specific group to ensurebuy-in and preparedness to implement a policy and apply practiceguidelines.
Part 2: Training Agenda
  • Explain the institutional policy or practice guidelines that will be implemented.
  • Justify the importance of the institutional policy or practiceguidelines to improve the quality of care or outcomes that are relatedto a specific group.
  • Advocate for the importance of the role a group will play in implementing an institutional policy or practice guidelines.
  • Develop materials that support learning and skill development toenable a group to be successful in applying a policy or practiceguidelines to its work.
  • Interpret complex policy considerations or practice guidelines for a specific audience with respect and clarity.
  • Write content clearly and logically, with correct use of grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Integrate relevant sources to support arguments, correctly formatting citations and references using APA style.

  • Length of submission: 2–5 double-spaced, typed pages. Your brief and agenda should be succinct yet substantive.
    • Please include a title page and a reference list in addition to your 2–5 page submission.
    • Please ensure that your submission clearly identifies your Brief of Strategies and your Training Agenda.
  • Number of references: Cite a minimum of 2-4 sources of scholarly, professional, or policy evidence to support your plans and strategies.
